There are some commands that you can only run in the CLI. Other stuff you can do in both. You need to find the fastest way of completing a particular task for you. Could be CLI could be GUI.
I prefer CLI for things like creating interfaces etc as you can use notepad. You may find that using templates in WCS/NCS is faster for some tasks. I only ever use CLI on a router/switch and the odd Auton AP but never really in any Lwapp deployment, its mainly GUI.
