Yes.  L3 is helpful, but the L2 stuff will make your head swim.  Some
people try to use the colored pens/pencils to show the VLANs, but VLAN
numbers were easier for me.  This is also the sort of thing that I would be
sure to do during your studying.  In particular, working through
multiprotocol labs (such as IPexpert) is helpful to train in the process of
documenting during the exam.  I'm sure that you experienced that when
preparing for the R/S.  Doing configurations on a single switch and WLC at
home is one thing.  Doing it with multiple WLCs and switches is different;
not because it is more difficult per se, but there is just more information
to keep in your mind.
