Hi all,

The question is 4.3 (WB1).No APs have static configured controllers.
According to workbook LAP 1 should fallback to WLC2.(obviously this is wrong)

I knew the priority but I was missing the detail in case of 2 Aps that don't
have static primary/sec/tertiary controllers.

Thanks Jeff for pointing this detail!

Is "AP Fallback" enabled under the Controller->General section? If not, that's
required in order for an AP to fallback to a primary WLC from a secondary (or
tertiary).

So just to clarify the configuration...

LAP1 does not have a static primary/secondary/tertiary controller configured.
On WLC2, you have configured WLC4 as a global backup primary controller for all
associated APs.
On WLC4, you have configured WLC2 as a global backup primary controller for all
associated APs.

If that is the configuration, then LAP1 will definitely not fail back to
WLC2 when it comes back up. The only time an AP is going to preemptively leave
the WLC that they are joined to and move to a different one is if that other
WLC is configured as a higher priority static primary/secondary/tertiary on the
AP itself and the AP fallback feature is enabled on the WLC that the AP is
currently associated to.

Barring that scenario, it's only going to move to another WLC if it loses
connection to its current WLC or if the WLC kicks it off.

If I was wrong about the configuration, please clarify what is configured for
the following settings.

   - The primary/secondary/tertiary WLCs configured on LAP1 itself
   - The AP fallback setting on both WLC2 and WLC4
   - the backup primary/secondary global settings for WLC2 and WLC4
   - The fast heartbeat timer settings on WLC2 and WLC4
