Hey,

Thanks for the replies. I have now changed the section to:

<sourcecontrol type="p4">
      <view>//depot/it/myproject/...</view>
      <executable>C:\Program Files\Perforce\p4.exe</executable>
      <client>//mymachine/it/myproject/</client>
      <user>myuser</user>
      <password>mypassword</password>
      <port>localhost:1666</port>
      <autoGetSource>true</autoGetSource>
        <forceSync>true</forceSync>
</sourcecontrol>

[Basis Conversion Project:DEBUG] error: Client
'//mymachine/it/myproject/' unknown - use 'client' command to create it.
[Basis Conversion Project:DEBUG] exit: 1

If I execute the command p4 client I get af notepad file. I am suppose
to edit this file? What do I edit, and what do I add? Is there more
things I am suppose to do in this connection?

BR
Brian

The view node specifies which files to monitor for changes. You need to
provide a filespec (or single line comma separated list of filespecs)
that define the area of the depot that you want to monitor. Getting
this right prevents CC from kicking off a build when a file is checked
into an unrelated area.

The client node specifies a Perforce workspace. The workspace defines
the files that will be retrieved from the depot. You should edit the
workspace to only include the folders/files you want retrieved by
providing a list of file specs.

I've also noticed in your view node that you've omitted the / after
project.
It should probably read //depot/project/...

Kind regards,

Tim

Subject: [ccnet-user] Trying to retrived all code in depot

Hi,

I have the following configuration of CC.Net:
<sourcecontrol type="p4">
      <view>//depot/project...</view>
      <executable>C:\Program Files\Perforce\p4.exe</executable>
      <client>mycomputer</client>
      <user>myuser</user>
      <password>mypassword</password>
      <port>localhost:1666</port>
      <autoGetSource>true</autoGetSource>
</sourcecontrol>

When I force an update the following command is executed by CC.Net:
"p4.exe -s -c mycomputer-p localhost:1666 -u myuser-P mypassword sync"
This is a big problem because my depot is really big. Therefore it gives
me the following error from the Perforce Server:
error: Date 2008/09/04 16:15:42:
error: Operation: user-sync
error: Operation 'user-sync' failed.
error: Request too large for server memory (try later?).

Instead i would like CC.Net to created the following command:
"p4.exe -s -c mycomputer-p localhost:1666 -u myuser-P mypassword sync
//depot/project..."

I think the main problem is, that i only want to retrived updates for
parts of the depot. It may be easy, but i am new to CC.Net and Perforce.

What did I do wrong?

Brian
