One option is to run two dashboards. One just allows you to view the
project status, the other lets you start/stop projects.
You should be able to get two dashboards running from the same instance of
IIS, using different urls.

Of course, if people know the url of the one with full access, it's not a
great security solution. Perhaps you can restrict access through IIS.

Kind regards,

Tim

Subject: [ccnet-user] New to CCNet/CCTray: Restrict users who may Force/Stop
a build

Hello

I'm new to CruiseControl, and also new to a team presently using it
for continuous builds.

I've been asked to make channge to either inactivate/make-invisible/
grey-out the "Force Build" button of CCTray so that only a restricted
list of users may stop/start/re-start builds, yet others may watch/
monitor without interferring.

I combed the documentation and didn't see means to do this built-in
already.

Thought I'd ask before just jumping in, Is this something already
available, and I just missed it?

If not, then my intent was to just make the ForceBuild button
invisible/inactive, etc., for all not "on the list"...

Looks like pretty basic mods to:
                    btnStartStopProject
                    btnForceBuild
                    btnToggleQueueView
Right?

Hutch
