[ccnet-user] VSTS: what's this workspace use for?

After I read the description here, I still don't know what's this
workspace? Does it has anything to do with the workspace in TFS?

I see this structure in TFS version control:
- branch name
     + 3rd party
     + Automated Tests
     ...

And I see this in the local directory:
D:\SFSAssessmentEngineBuild
     + WebTester
        - Nightly
             + 3rdParty
             + Automated Tests
              ...

I don't see antying about
<workspace>SFSAssessmentEngine_WebTester_Nightly_3rdParty</workspace>

What's the <project/>, why it's not documented?
