Thanks, didn't consider cloaking. will look into it.

My understanding of the FilteredSourceControl block was that if I add an
exclusion filter, then those files would not affect the triggering
mechanism, i.e. if use the path filter you have suggested then any checkins
to FolderA would never trigger a build?

The description in the link you provided says:  "*FilteredSourceControl
allows you to filter out modifications that are used to trigger a build*"

sorry if I'm being stupid here.. :)
