Hello, That's strange. I did change my dashboard.config file (the xsl part) and it did change the content of the pages. I think you have a problem of configuration, verify that your IIS directory references the good disk repertory. Try restart it.
As for the appearance, the sole thing you have to do is to check the xsl files installed, include the good ones in the order you like, make sure the xml intermediate files generated by the tools are merged (normally it's automatically done) and that's it. I think you should try achieve this first, then you will be able to install plugins without any problem.
