Just a shot in the dark here - does the build time-out after a certain amount of time? You say that the build succeeds; perhaps the Publish tasks are taking too long, or one of them silently fails.
Also, consider cranking up the log verbosity of CCNet (ccnet.exe.config and / or ccservice.exe.config and / or dashboard.config) so that you can troubleshoot the issue a little better. HTH ~Sam.
