Dear Fred, Many apologies for your difficulties. My first thought is that perhaps CCP4MG's lighting settings are completely messed up. This can be tested by removing completely the folder:
$HOME/.CCP4MG2 If this does not work, then further investigation will be required. Also, in CCP4 we are working on a new graphics program: Moorhen.
