With its 1200 employees it belongs as an autonomous institution to the Swiss ETH domain and concentrates its activities on solid-state research, elementary particle physics, energy and environmental research as well as on biology and medicine. The Swiss Light Source is one of the most advanced synchrotron sources world wide. The SLS currently operates two undulator beamlines for macromolecular crystallography. Our group works on the design and construction of new beam line components, the implementation of automation, structure determination of proteins as well as methodological crystallographic studies. You task include - Design and development of new beam line components in particular in the area of beam line automation - Participation in the on-going research projects - Maintenance and beam line support Your profile You hold a university degree in electronic engineering, physics or chemistry,and have research experience with synchrotron radiation, automation or biophysical instrumentation. A Ph.D. is not required. Good computing skills or programming expertise are a plus.If you are self-motivated and if you enjoy working in a multi disciplinary environment, this position will offer a great opportunity.
