The Fourth International Workshop on X-ray Damage to Biological Crystalline Samples will be held at SPring8 on March 7th and 8th, 2006. Topics under discussion will include: (a) Experiences from electron microscopy (b) Relevant radiation chemistry (c) beam heating; modelling and verification, (d) dose/dose rate effects and limits to sample life, (e) specific sensitivity of particular crystals/heavy atoms to damage, (f) improved software for dealing with radiation damage, (g) the utilisation of radiation damage for biological studies, (h) Radiation biology of whole cell. The organizers are Soichi Wakatsuki, Masaki Yamamoto, Elspeth Garman, Colin Nave, Sean McSweeney, Raimond Ravelli and Gerd Rosenbaum.
