Version 2.1 of CLIMS (Crystallography Laboratory Information Management System) has been released today. Please visit http:// clims.med.monash.edu.au for more info.
In addition to numerous bug fixes, CLIMS2.1 features several enhancements (many of them requested by users). Notably:
Template Import Facility - Commercial screens can be imported into CLIMS2.1 as Comma Separated Values (CSV) - eg from MS EXCEL. Many existing commercial templates/screens are usually downloadable in excel format (note the new database contains man
Secured User - In CLIMS2 there are two types of users - Normal and Super User. CLIMS2.1 introduces a third type of user called Secured User. The only difference between a Secured and Normal user is a Secured user may create secured projects, and all the experiments under this category will not be visible to a normal user and other secured user. This has been done to facilitate privacy and security of experiments with IP protected data.
Delete an experiment - In CLIMS2 only Super user could delete an experiment. In CLIMS2.1 normal and secured user may delete an experiment if the user is the project owner (creator of the project that holds the experiment) and the observer is the owner of the experiment. Super user still can delete any experiment and project at any time.
