So when I allowed ccp4 to build its own fftw, it now works fine with g++4.0, as you observed. Sorry. On Ubuntu Linux, with the new gfortran patches in place, everything now builds out of the box with gcc4, g++4 and gfortran. I'm running the examples now. On OS X, there are still a couple of problems, which I will summarize shorty. I'm also curious if the code runs any slower. Thanks for the suggestions. Bill
