This is advance notice that we are planning to hold an in-depth Workshop on "Experimental Phasing of Macromolecules" in September 2006 in Goettingen, Germany, sponsored by the EU MaxInf2 project. The following have agreed to act as lecturers/tutors: Airlie McCoy, Tassos Perrakis, Clemens Vonrhein, Isabel Uson, Raj Pannu, Raimond Ravelli, Kay Diederichs, Thomas R. Schneider, Garib Murshudov, Tim Gruene, Paul Emsley, Regine Herbst-Irmer and George M. Sheldrick. We should be able to provide good computing facilities for hands-on tutorials.
Participants should arrive on the afternoon of Thursday 7th September and depart on the morning of Thursday 14th September 2006. There is no conference fee and we will be able to provide subsidised accommodation but not travel costs for about 30 selected "students". Further details will be revealed in due course, the closing date for applications will be June 1st 2006. Since accommodation is limited in Goettingen and we need to reserve rooms at least six months in advance, to assess demand it would be useful if potential participants could send me a brief "preregistration" email.
Since funding is limited, sponsors would be particularly welcome, so we will guarantee places to participants from firms wishing to make a suitable donation!
