Dear CCP4MG users-

I have been having difficulty displaying transparent surfaces in the
latest versions of ccp4mg for both windows XP and linux. Specifically,
if I try to change the display of a surface to transparent it
disappears. Changing the opacity does not help. Has anyone experienced
the same problem and found a solution? Thanks for the help.

Surface drawing style should show only two options: Solid and Dots. To do transparency select View->Set transparency. There should be a slider for molecule name with SurfaceDispobj. It is probably quicker to set this to something like 0.3 or 0.4 and then turn on transparency with radio button at top. If your menus are different or this doesn't work than it is possible that your version of ccp4mg is not the newest. The version at www.ysbl.york.ac.uk/~ccp4mg/download should be the newest. If this still doesn't work then I will have to update the packages there.
