There was a very similar request to the bb fairly recently for bad crystals (for a different reason). I believe there were quite a few examples mentioned, I suggest browsing the archives... Does anyone know of a commercially available material that tends to make lousy crystals (needles, plates, hidden in gunk, fragile) under known conditions?
