Protein Crystallizer with Sanofi-Aventis
For the structural biology department with our research center in Vitry (Paris, France) we are seeking
· 1 group leader in Protein Crystallization well experienced with protein biochemistry, automation, crystallization and database management. You will be involved in the crystallization of pharmaceutical relevant proteins free and complexed with small ligands. In addition you will be developing innovative solubilization protocol of challenging complex systems for successful structural study. You will be responsible for setting up structural biology plans to define the protein constructs that need to be produced for crystallization trials. This position will include the management and coaching of several technical assistants as well as being the primary interface with the protein production team. You will develop and maintain an easy and efficient communication process to keep posted teams from various sites on progress related to their projects. The position is within the structural biology group and requires a Ph.D. in Protein Crystallography with a minimum of 4 years of post-doctoral experience preferably within the pharmaceutical industry. A strong expertise in protein crystallization with a broad knowledge in protein biochemistry including successful experience with automated crystallization workstations is required. Management experience of technical assistants will be a key asset. Demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills as well as the capacity and enthusiasm for working in a multi-disciplinary multi-site environment are necessary. Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English is an absolute requirement.
