Here's a suggestion. Many moons ago, PyMOL would write out pictures with a default resolution of 72 dpi.

To circumvent this, I used to reset the size of the output image in PyMOL to get the final resolution you want in the foll. manner.

Say you want a fig. with final resolution of ~ 300 dpi at a final size of 4-in by 3-in.

Type-
viewport 1200, 900
(desired final resolution multiplied by size, 4-in. by 3-in. in my example)
png mypic.png

Works for me everytime.

Hi,

I saved images using the ‘Save Image’ option in the ‘File’ menu. Images are pretty good. The problem is these images are slightly low resolution.

Does anyone know how to create a high resolution figure in PyMol software? or How to export the script to some other format like r3d, POVRay, etc.?

Thanks in advance.

N. Stanley.
