Many thanks for the prompt and very helpful response. The problem was quickly fixed by changing the stacksize limit to 65008 (or unlimited) in the ccp4.setup file. Obviously, the limit for stacksize on my system (MacBook Pro/1.83GHz/MacOS X 10.4.6) is 65008 which results from issuing the commands: %limit stacksize unlimited %limit in the shell.
