ELECTRON MICROSCOPY GROUP LEADER

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) is an international centre of excellence in basic and applied biomedical research, located at the Barcelona Science Park on the University of Barcelona campus. At present, it comprises 25 research groups organised into five Programmes: Cell and Developmental Biology, Structural and Computational Biology, Molecular Medicine, Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, and Applied and Translational Oncology.

The Structural and Computational Biology Programme seeks a scientist to lead a new research group in the field of Electron Microscopy (EM). A proven record of excellence in the structural analysis of biological particles and assemblies using cryo-EM and single-particle reconstruction techniques is required. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with other members of the Programme, who are involved in X-ray crystallography, NMR and Computational Biology. Basic EM equipment is already available; however, the Institute plans to purchase further state-of-the-art EM instrumentation under the guidance of the new Group Leader.

The Institute will provide successful candidates with a generous start-up package and access to state-of-the-art core facilities.

Applications for the above openings should include a CV, a brief statement of research experience and interests, and the contact addresses of 3 referees. Applications should be sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
