Purification of proteins and the preparation of protein-ligand complexes for X-ray crystallography and NMR.
Development and optimization of purification protocols for novel proteins. Protein characterization and crystallography screening. Clear documentation of results in lab books and relevant databases. Maintenance of laboratory infrastructure, ordering reagents, responsibility for the maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Main tasks:
Protein purification, characterization and crystallography screening
Clear and precise documentation of results
Maintenance of lab infrastructure (ordering chemicals, consumables, chromatography system maintenance
Establish and optimize protocols for the purification of novel proteins as required
To work according to regulations for health, safety and environmental protection
Masters degree, completed training as laboratory technician or equivalent
Several years practical laboratory experience in protein purification and analysis are a must. Sound knowledge of protein chemistry, good knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry and physics.
Experience in protein crystallography would be advantageous.
Candidate should be a team player, able to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams and able to work in a flexible manner with several different projects. Good organization skills.
Fluent in German and English
