You can use a programmed stepping motor driven plate holder, and close
your eyes while it is moving. We sometimes did this before we purchased
a commercial imager. This also increases eye blinking frequency,
sometimes useful if you are otherwise too curious to find crystals
quickly...

I get the same thing when I move the plate too fast.  I find that
checking the wells in columns rather than rows seems to mitigate most of
the feeling of motion sickness.  For some reason the scrolling
side-to-side is more unpleasant than up-down scrolling.
