POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN PROTEIN CRYSTALLOGRAPHY/STRUCTURAL BIOCHEMISTRY
BAYLOR COLLEGE OF MEDICINE, USA

An NIH-funded POSTDOCTORAL position is available immediately to study the 
structure and function of ATP-dependent molecular machines [Cell 
(2004),119:653; Cell (2003),115:229]. The position requires a recent Ph.D. in 
one of the natural sciences relevant to structural biochemistry. Applicants 
must be
highly motivated and must have demonstrated experience (i.e. relevant 
publications) with methods used for 3D protein structure determination, 
including recombinant protein expression, purification, and crystallization. 
Experience with gene cloning and site-directed mutagenesis is an advantage.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and will be in addition to a 
generous fringe benefit package.

U.S. News & World Report recently ranked BCM among the top 10 medical schools 
in the United States. The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at 
BCM is ranked 2nd out of 109 medical school departments with respect to NIH 
research grant support. Our lab is fully equipped for all aspects of
molecular biology, protein chemistry, and protein crystallography. In addition, 
BCM is also part of the Gulf Coast Protein Crystallography Consortium (GCPCC) 
that operates its own MAD beamline in Baton Rouge, LA.
