Applications are invited for the post of Postdoctoral Research Associate
at the Division of Medicine based mainly at the St Mary’s Campus,
Paddington.
The post involves studies of HIV DNA integration and is supported by the
Medical Research Council. You will focus on the structural organization
of the retroviral integration machinery and its interactions with
cellular factors. You will attempt to determine crystal structures of
retroviral integrases in complex with host cell factors, in particular
LEDGF/p75, and/or DNA. Various genetic and biochemical techniques will
be used as supplementary and back-up approaches. You will be in
excellent position to carry out research in the competitive field of
retrovirology and will help train/assist other members of the
laboratory. You will also have the opportunity to design and implement
experimental strategies and to develop the project.
You will be an exceptionally motivated scientist with a PhD in a
relevant subject and a solid background in molecular biology and
biochemistry techniques. You should also have good interpersonal and
presentation skills.
The post is full time and available for three years.
