You need to put the selection in quotes: source "/*/*/*/N,O,CA" otherwise the commas confuse the parser. This should solve both your problems. This is documented (somewhat obscurely) in pdbcur.html#atom_selection Cheers Martyn On Mon, 2006-09-04 at 08:21 -0700, Curious George wrote: Dear list, i am having some trouble with the syntax in NCONT to select multiple atoms for comparison. I want to fish out main chain hydrogen bonds between different chains. I tried using: source /*/*/*/N,O target /*/*/*/N,O mindist 2.3 maxdist 3.3 cells INTER which not only gives N->O, but also N->* (i.e. all interactions between N and any other atom). What is the right way to do this? Accidently, if I use source /*/*/*/N,O,CA the program exits saying I use the wrong syntax. Thanks, Rob Meijers
