<x-tad-bigger> </x-tad-bigger><x-tad-bigger> A post-doctoral fellowship is available at the Laboratoire d'Enzymologie et Biochimie Structurales (LEBS), CNRS, Gif-sur-Yvette, France. Funding is for two years. Annual gross salary : 25 700 €.
In the cell, microtubules alternate phases of rapid growth and slow depolymerization at their ends, a behavior termed dynamic instability. Research in the lab focuses on the structural study of the regulation of microtubule assembly by endogeneous proteins. The project is concerned with proteins that stabilize microtubules. We have expressed some of them ; we will study their interaction with tubulin by biochemical and biophysical methods in solution as well as characterize structurally the corresponding complexes. Our objective is to relate the results to functionnal aspects (microtubules dynamics). The project involves interactions with NMR spectroscopists and cell biologists.
The LEBS is well equipped for protein purification and characterization by biochemical and biophysical methods. Crystallization robotics and X-ray diffraction equipment are available in-house and we have regular access to synchrotron sources. The lab is located in a multidisciplinary life sciences campus, 40 minutes by direct train from the center of Paris.
Applicants should hold a Ph. D., have experience in biochemistry (protein expression, purification and biochemical characterization) and an interest in structural studies. Experience in protein crystallization and crystallography would be an advantage, but training will be provided to an interested biochemist – molecular biologist.
