POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN PROTEIN CRYSTALLOGRAPHY A postdoctoral position is available at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. This position involves the study of structural mechanisms of molecular recognition by proteins. Projects in the lab include: (i) structural/biophysical studies of protein-protein and protein-ligand recognition by antibody mimics, (ii) structural studies of carbamoyl phosphate synthetase, (iii) structural/biophysical studies of the interplay between protein dynamics and stability. Prior experience in crystallography is NOT required, only willingness to learn the method. Strong background in molecular biology techniques and/or biophysical methods will be considered a plus. An ideal candidate is a myth, and the only quality truly sought after is strong motivation. An initial appointment is for two years.
