Hi,
A nice thing about getting all the messages individually is that you can
(in most email clients anyway) view them as collapsible threads. By
sending all ccp4 messages into one folder and in that folder viewing
only the threads that contain unread messages I get a current 'digest'
of all subjects since I last read my emails. It is therefore better than
daily - it updates as often as I read my emails.
The only downside is an occasional hiccup when the threads get confused
(perhaps when a poster modifies the subject heading of a reply?)

.. yes I could, but then i have to remember to look at the messages in
that folder, instead of only the ones that arrive in my inbox.
these digest format messages are very common on email lists these days,
and i am subscribed to nearly a dozen of them. I find it is the best
solution to
not having 300 new messages in my inbox every morning,
but still getting all the info, as you can look through the subject
list of the messages in the digest email
and see at a glance which messages you want to read.
It is much more efficient, especially when you are subscribed to many
lists like I am.
All the other lists I am on run using MailMan I think which has this
option.
