A postdoctoral position is available in the x-ray crystallography and
protein design group at Friedrich-Alexander-University in Erlangen.
The position is funded in part by the Volkswagen-Foundation to explore
alternative allosteric coupling pathways in bacterial repressor
proteins. Because a number of crystals are already available, it is
important that the candidate has a strong background in protein
crystallography with additional expertise in molecular biology and
protein chemistry. The candidate is also expected to consider submission
of a German habilitation thesis, hence, the opportunity will be provided
to pursue independent research projects. Funding is available for
initially three years.
Erlangen is a small town of 100,000 located close to Nuremberg in the
north of Bavaria with its own distinct Franconian charms....
