A postdoctoral research associate position is available immediately within the group of Dr Graeme Conn at the University of Manchester, UK. The project will involve structural (X-ray crystallography) and biochemical analysis of ribosomal RNA methylating enzymes that confer resistance to antibiotics. We are currently studying various aspects of RNA structure/function and RNA-protein interactions and our laboratory is part of a grouping with similar but varied interests, located in the recently opened Manchester Interdisciplinary Biocentre (see www.mib.ac.uk for details).
Candidates should hold a PhD in a biological science or chemistry, ideally with experience in X-ray crystallography or molecular biology/ protein expression. The salary associated with the post is £25,633 p.a..
