Apologies not strictly CCP4 but may be of interest to
the wider structural community. Position
available for a Protein NMR Spectroscopist Pfizer European
R&D Headquarters, The Structural Biology and Biophysics team delivers
structural information and ligand-binding data to support drug discovery
projects across a number of therapeutic areas. Our integrated approach covers
the entire process from target cloning to structure, as well as biophysical
characterisation of small-molecule binding to the target. Core areas of
expertise include Protein Engineering, X-ray Crystallography and Biophysics
(Surface Plasmon Resonance, Microcalorimetry, Mass Spectrometry). We aim to
expand our capabilities to include protein NMR spectroscopy. As a highly motivated scientist with a PhD, preferably
majoring in protein NMR spectroscopy, you'll be an articulate communicator and a
good team player. You'll need extensive relevant practical experience,
particularly protein-ligand interaction studies and fragment screening using
NMR spectroscopy. With hands-on experience of pulse programming and
multinuclear NMR, you'll ideally have a background in Pharmaceuticals or the
biotech industry. You'll also maintain and develop links with leading
external biomolecular NMR groups and Pfizer's global protein NMR groups, so
excellent interpersonal skills are a must. To find out more and apply online, visit http://www.pfizer.co.uk quoting requisition
