Greetings,

This is the second announcement for the Ohio Valley Crystallographic Symposium (OVCS). You and your group are cordially invited to participate!

The symposium will take place on November 10th, at the Genome Research Institute in Cincinnati, OH. The focus of OVCS is primarily on practical matters, from protein _expression_ to structure-based inhibitor design – therefore, the majority of oral presentations are selected based on the practical relevance to the everyday work of a macromolecular crystallographer. Several spots for oral presentation are still open. The poster criteria are more general, and plenty of poster space is available!

The preliminary scientific program for the second OVCS is now available on the web site:

Adequate time has been allocated for poster viewing, coffee-break interactions with fellow scientists, as well as for the vendor displays. The panel discussion at the end of the meeting is designed to give the student and postdoc attendees an opportunity to talk about career issues with established scientists from both academia and industry.

Just as before, we have attempted to make this symposium as cost-less as possible for everyone, especially in view of the ever-shrinking travel budgets. Therefore, the participation in OVCS is free (including all program meals) – thanks to the generosity of our sponsors!

Electronic registration for the symposium closes on November 1st, 2006. Due to GRI security and for the purposes of meal planning; please register if you are planning to attend.

Thank you,

The Organizers
