Postdoctoral position in protein crystallography at Freie University Berlin Scope Determination of the crystal structure of homodimeric cyanobacterial photosystem II (PSII) at highest possible resolution (presently 3.0 Å, Loll et.al., Nature 438, 1040 (2005)). In addition, we will study structures of components of or associated with PSII. This involves mainly X-ray diffraction with data collection at synchrotrons and possibly neutron diffraction. The laboratory is well equipped with apparatus for X-ray diffraction, biochemistry and molecular biology. Work on PSII is a long-stamding cooperation with Technical University Berlin who are engaged in PSII preparation and crystallization.
