Hi Citizens:Is there any reasonable way to distinguish between a water molecule and an ammonium ion in a crystal structure at 2 Å resolution?
(Plausible hydrogen bonding schemes can be invoked in which this peak donates either two or four hydrogens for hydrogen bond formation.)
