Hello, It seems I have managed to crystallize a salt by reverse vapor diffusion. My protein is in 0.5M KCl and Hepes. The 1+1 drops were first equilibrated against PEG, Ca Acetate and Hepes, then switched to wells with dI water. The drops visibly increased in size with time. Crystals nucleated (stuck to the coverslip) after 6-10 days. Diffraction tests showed the crystals were salt. Has anyone else working with decreasing ionic strength seen anything like this?
