Mailing list infinite loops are a traditional part of the Holiday cheer, due to the many vacations that occur during this time. Provided that posting to the list is members-only (recommended), a common way to resolve the problem is to contact the list admin and have the affected account removed from the list. When the individual returns from break, the problem will likely have gone away and he/she can re-sign up again the normal way.

Note that Michael K Swan is not necessarily the affected account, nor is it necessarily a virus.
