The Structural Chemistry Laboratory (SCL), Mölndal is a centre of
excellence supporting the AstraZeneca discovery organizations in Sweden,
UK and US. The main mission is to provide and promote the use of protein
structural information in drug discovery with an increasing focus on
assisting the lead generation process. The laboratory has now around 40
scientists engaged in experimental research and the core disciplines are
protein engineering, NMR spectroscopy and protein crystallography. SCL
is part of the global structural chemistry department and works closely
together with the structural group in Alderley Park, UK.

Senior Research Scientist, Protein engineering.


Proffice is now looking for an experienced protein biochemist for a
10-month temporary position placed in the protein engineering section of
the Structural Chemistry Laboratory, AstraZeneca R&D Mölndal, Sweden.
The candidate is expected to have a solid background in production of
proteins for structural studies as well as a proven record in scientific
projects. A suitable background is a PhD with postdoctoral experience or
similar qualifications gained in an industrial setting.


The position is laboratory based but also requires the generation of
reports and presentations both internally and towards the lead discovery
project teams. Familiarity with the workflow of a structural chemistry
project is a plus.


The global setting of the research projects and the cross-discipline
nature of the work require a person that functions well within a team
and has excellent communication skills.
