Indeed the problem that you mention has nothing to do with the
machine you're working on, it is an error in the setup.
Indeed arp_warp_6.1.1 works perfectly well with CCP4 v6.0.2 (in term
of interface).
When you run the install.sh shell script it mentions at the end of it
that you have to add a environment variable (called warpbin) and also
add a directory to your path.
The error message you get is simply complaining that you have not
done that ....
To solve this error, you have to add these settings to your
environment :
If using CSH/TCSH :
setenv warpbin the_place_where_you_untared_arp_warp/arp_warp_6.1.1/
bin/`uname`
set path ($warpbin $path)
If you are using sh/bash/ksh :
export warpbin=the_place_where_you_untared_arp_warp/arp_warp_6.1.1/
bin/`uname`
export PATH=$warpbin:$PATH
This will at least solve the interface trouble you are seeing.
Now it is also possible that running the PPC executable of ARP/wARP
on an intel based mac might cause troubles, indeed I've never tried,
so if after launching the job you see unexpected results, please feel
free to mail (on this list, or preferably on the ARP/wARP users'
mailing list : [EMAIL PROTECTED] )

hi,
i am trying to install and run arp/warp on mac intel with CCP4 6.0.2
The installation has no problem but, when i try running it it gives
initially "CANNOT GET ENVIRONMENT VARIABLE FOR WARPBIN"
Then when pressed "DISMISS" it gives another error message
ERROR: couldn't open "ARP_6.1_small.gif" : no such file or directory
has anybody encountered such errors.
arp/warp in previous version of ccp4 6.0.1 runs without any problem
in mac ppc machines.
