The behaviour depends on the platform you are using. If it is Windows, the following does not apply.
For all other platforms:
When you set up an environment in one terminal and then start another one, the changes are not kept. The second terminal opens a separate shell reading only the startup scripts. Often this is ~/.<SHELL>rc, where <SHELL> is something like bash, ksh, zsh, etc. Or for bash (most common on linux-systems): ~/.profile, ~/.bash_profile et al.

In brief: If you want the CCP4 environment be set up automatically, you should place a corresponding command in your shell's startup-script.

Dear all,

I have just installed the new version of CCP4 6.0.2, after that I source the
ccp4.setup and ccp4-others.setup and every thing runs OK.However, when I
restart a window, only through resource the ccp4.setup and ccp4-others.setup
could I run the CCP4 program.

Any sugestions and hints are welcome.

Thanks
