The behaviour depends on the platform you are using. If it is Windows, the
following does not apply.
For all other platforms:
When you set up an environment in one terminal and then start another one,
the changes are not kept. The second terminal opens a separate shell
reading only the startup scripts. Often this is ~/.<SHELL>rc, where
<SHELL> is something like bash, ksh, zsh, etc. Or for bash (most common on
linux-systems): ~/.profile, ~/.bash_profile et al.
In brief: If you want the CCP4 environment be set up automatically, you
should place a corresponding command in your shell's startup-script.
