The projects aim at several integral membrane proteins. Some of these target proteins can be overexpressed and purified in decent amounts for crystallization experiments. These are collaborative efforts involving groups from the universities Konstanz and Zürich (Transregio SFB). The Postdoc/Doctoral student receives the overexpression system from a partner lab and performs crystallization experiments and the usual cycles of optimization in our lab. After obtaining well-diffracting crystals, the work will shift to data collection and crystallographical structure determination.
