Postdoc position at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry, Munich,
see posting below...

The Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry is one of the leading research
institutes within the fields of biochemistry, cell- and structural
biology, and biomedicine. With its ten scientific departments, twelve
junior research groups, and a staff of around 800 people, the institute
is one of the largest institutes within the Max Planck Society.

Postdoc Structural Biology/Crystallography (Walther Lab)

We are looking for a highly motivated and creative Postdoc for
structural biology research in basic cell biological questions. In
particular we are working on eisosome structure and assembly. Eisosomes
are large protein complexes at the plasma membrane that mark sites of
endocytosis. The major goal of the project will be to elucidate the
structure of the main eisosome components by X-ray crystallography. In
addition, we will employ a combination of biochemical, cell biological
and biophysical methods to characterize assembly and function of
eisosomes. We provide a very friendly, enthusiastic and supportive
environment with full access to all facilities and structural biology
resources of the Max Planck institutes.

The initial appointment will be for 2 years with the possibility of
extension.

The Max Planck Society seeks to increase the number of women in those
areas where they are underrepresented and therefore explicitly
encourages women to apply. The Max Planck Society is committed to
employing more disabled individuals and especially encourages them to
apply.

To apply, please email a curriculum vitae, bibliography, the names and
addresses of referees to:
