Diamond Light Source, the new UK synchrotron based in South Oxfordshire has an opening for a beamline scientist to work on the macromolecular crystallography beamlines. Diamond has recently started operating and is currently commissioning the three Phase 1 MX beamlines. These fully tunable MAD beamlines will ultimately be fully automated (hardware and software) and will provide users with state of the art data collection facilities. In addition to the three Phase 1 beamlines we are currently in the process of building a microfocus macromolecular crystallograpy beamline which is due for completion next year and a fixed wavelength side station for 2009. This beamline scientist role is to assist in the commisioning and operation of the Phase 1 beamlines and is available immediately.
