With quite appropriate timing Brown and Ramaswamy have just published a very nice paper in Acta D. on the quality of Protein Structures - http://journals.iucr.org/d/issues/2007/09/00/dz5114/dz5114.pdf. In the paper table 5 shows an interesting relationship between the quality of the structure and the journal of primary citation. A good deal of the authors discussion is reflected in some of the recent postings on this subject Cheers, Eddie.
