Membrane Structural and Functional Biology

The University of Limerick is inviting applications for the post of Senior 
Research Fellow in the Membrane Structural and Functional Biology Research 
Group.  The major theme within the Group is structure and function of membrane 
proteins by crystallographic means.  Systems under investigation include 
respiratory complexes, receptors, transducers, transporters, adhesins/invasins, 
and quorum sensing-related and biofilm forming membrane proteins of Pseudomonas 
aeruginosa. 

The candidate must have a Ph.D. in protein crystallography.  Demonstrated 
success in all aspects of protein crystallization, diffraction data collection 
and processing, structure solution and refinement, plus experience in molecular 
biology and protein purification and characterization techniques is required.  
The candidate should be a highly motivated individual who enjoys working as 
part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.  Strong leadership, 
communication and teaching skills are decided assets.

The salary range for the position is EUR41,399 - EUR84,870 per annum.  The 
contract period is 4 years.
