I want to vary b-factors smoothly from either point or a plane. This is for pretty-picture purposes. I can then colour molecule by b-factor and get nice, pretty effects.
the BFactor PSeudo command in MOLEMAN2 can be used for this. Option D sets B-factors by distance to an arbitrary point. by aligning your molecule appropriately, the X option (colour by X-coordinate) can be used to colour by distance from a plane
