Beamline Scientist Position

MX group at Diamond Light Source, UK

This position will be based on a state-of-the art macromolecular
crystallography beamline currently being commissioned. The beamlines use
in-vacuum undulators to generate X-rays in the range of 5-25 keV.
Kirkpatrick-Baez mirrors focus the X-ray beam to 100µm x 100µm. The beamlines
are equipped with tiled array CCD detectors and robotic sample changers to
allow the rapid collection of high quality macromolecular crystallography data.

The beamline scientist will be working as part of the MX beamline team to
assist in the commissioning and optimisation of the MX beamline I02 alongside
other beamline scientists and support staff. In addition, the beamline
scientist will take active part in developments and upgrades of the MX
beamlines as well as assisting in the operation of the beamlines for users.
Finally, the beamline scientist will have the opportunity to carry out own
research in an area relevant to the MX beamlines on diamond.

This is a permanent position and the application deadline is Friday October 26th
