Postdoctoral position in protein crystallography at Freie University
Berlin for 2 years.
Scope
Determination of the crystal structures of different proteins
(membrane-intrinsic receptors, DNA-binding proteins, photosystem II
and other proteins) at highest possible resolution using the Berlin
synchrotron BESSY and other synchrotrons (ESRF Grenoble, SLS
Switzerland). In addition, we will study structures of components of
or associated with photosystem II. These studies involve mainly X-ray
diffraction with data collection in-house and at synchrotrons and
possibly neutron diffraction.
The successful candidate will also be engaged in teaching with us a
lab coure in protein crystallography.
The laboratory is well equipped with apparatus for X-ray diffraction,
biochemistry and molecular biology.
The position is open from now for 2 years, salary according to German
BAT IIa.

Requirements
We are looking for a highly motivated and team oriented postdoc with
knowledge in biochemistry (protein purification), molecular biology
or related sciences with profound experience in X-ray structure
analysis of proteins.
