MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge
Postdoctoral Scientist
£25,368 - £26,953 per annum

The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) is a world famous institution with a strong track record in training postdoctoral fellows who have gone on to become leading scientists.

Several research groups at the LMB work on the structure of membrane proteins, including transporters and G protein-coupled receptors. With our recent success in solving the structure of a thermostabilised adrenergic receptor (Nature 454, 486-491), we wish to expand similar work on other membrane proteins. We are therefore offering a three-year Postdoctoral Career Development Fellowship for an enthusiastic scientist with an interest in membrane protein biochemistry and crystallography, and with some experience in at least one of these areas. You will join a multi-disciplinary team at the LMB with expertise in all aspects of membrane protein research and will be expected to perform work ranging from protein expression through to structure determination. The work will be performed in the lab of Dr. Chris Tate with crystallographic assistance from Dr. Andrew Leslie.

An MRC Career Development Fellowship is a three year training and development position for a postdoctoral scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies or is moving into a new research discipline. This position is available immediately. The salary will be supported by a flexible pay and reward policy, 30 days’ annual leave entitlement, an optional MRC final salary pension scheme and excellent on site sports and social facilities.
