X-Ray Crystallographer Position The New York Structural Biology Center (NYSBC), a consortium of ten leading biomedical research centers in New York, is seeking a beamline scientist to manage its two beamlines at NSLS at the Brookhaven National Laboratory and NYSBC's in-house crystallographic facility in New York City. X4A at NSLS is a fully tunable beamline optimized for multi-wavelength (MAD) phasing; X4C, a newer sister beamline, has a more limited energy range, but a higher flux density. The successful candidate will have an extensive record in macromolecular crystallography and will excel at working in a team environment in the day-to-day operations of the beamlines and in support of the user community. The candidate will also have the opportunity to pursue an independent line of research and will participate in Center-based projects (www.nysbc.org) such as the New York Consortium on Membrane Proteins (www.nycomps.org).
